Aus der Sammlung „Takeshi Kitano and other Icons“ bieten wir hier aus einer privaten Sammlung drei Prints zum Verkauf an.

In 2011, the French magazine Courrier International praised “the artist’s irony and poetic vision” and noted the fearless manner in which Lovigin used photography to evoke the moods and mindsets of both his compatriots and the people he encountered during his wide travels.

His photographs have been shown in numerous exhibitions, most recently at the Museum of Photography Thessaloniki, the Photobiennale in Moscow, and the Istanbul Modern Art Museum. His work is held in private collections in New York, Paris, London, Vancouver, Roma, Hamburg, Munich, Madrid, and Cologne.

Takeshi Kitano and Other Icons

Another series that started out as a game to become a real beauty is Takeshi Kitano and Other Icons. Here Lovigin plays with a series of famous personalities in an anonymous context.

„I started with Kitano because I’m a big fan and I was intrigued by the idea of putting him in the spotlight along with people that don’t even know who he is.“ Petr Lovigin

So here’s a class photo of some alumni wearing masks with Kitano’s face, a group of friends at the movies with the enigmatic smile of the Dalai Lama, and some worker women in front of sewing machines with the iconic face of Audrey Hepburn.

北野武

Takeshi Kitano (jap. 北野武 Kitano Takeshi; * 18. Januar 1947 in Adachi, Tokio) ist ein japanischer Regisseur, Schauspieler, Dichter, Autor, TV- und Radiomoderator, Maler und populärer Comedian. In Deutschland ist er vorrangig dank der Filme Hana-Bi, Battle Royale, Zatoichi – Der blinde Samurai, Kikujiros Sommer, aber auch der Gameshow Takeshi’s Castle bekannt geworden. Seit April 2005 ist er außerdem Dozent an der Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In Japan ist er auch unter dem Pseudonym Beat Takeshi bekannt.

Making off Tautou

Petr Lovigin ist ein großer Fan der bekannten französischen Schauspielerin Audrey Tatou. Sie erreichte Weltruhm durch den Film „Die fabelhafte Welt der Amelie“ von 2001. Da lag es auf der Hand, dass er sie in seinen „Takeshi Kitano and other icons“ – Club aufnahm und ihr fotografisch ein paar Doppelgängerinnen zur Seite stellte. Genaugenommen dreiundzwanzig, die das „Fotogesicht“ der Schauspielerin trugen.

Die beiden Fotos zeigen sozusagen das „making of“ des Bildes. Petr konnte für das Shooting eine Schulklasse mitsamt der Lehrerin gewinnen.

Petr Lovigin bittet zum Gruppenbild mit „Maske“. Die Helferinnen werden für das spätere Bild in Position gebracht. Das finale Foto rechts zeigt dann 23 Mal die französische Schauspielerin Audrey Tautou.
